What’s included with the rental?

Helmet, E-Bike, Lock, Map and excellent service with a smile included.

What should you bring?

Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, close toed shoes, water, backpack (or you can rent one).

How long is a rental?

You can choose a minimum of 2 – 4 hours to as much as a month.

What is the battery range of the Black Rock E-Bike?

Electric bike (e-bike) battery range varies! Depending on weight, hills and how much you use the throttle, most folks average 20-25 miles although many have achieved much more by using the pedal-assist efficiently.

Do I need to wear a helmet?

Yes! We require our customers to wear helmets. While it is not a state law to wear a helmet while riding an e-bike in Maui, we do require it for your safety!

How fast do the E-bikes go?

Our electric bikes comply with federal and state regulations. Basically our e-bikes can go about 23MPH on electric only.  With pedaling, you e-bike can exceed that speed!

What is the size of the E-bike?

Due to its dynamic design, the Black Rock Bike can comfortably accommodate most folks both big or small. It is best if the rider is at least 5’2″ tall.

Are E-bikes waterproof? Can I ride in the rain?

E-bikes are not waterproof and should not be submerged in water, but are water resistant and able to be used in the rain and other inclement weather conditions.. To preserve the condition of your bike and make it last longer, we recommend wiping it down after use in the rain and storing it in a dry environment.

Is there an age requirement?

​In Hawaii, persons 15 years and older may operate an e-bike. If you have a passenger on your bike under the age of 16, they must be wearing a helmet.

Where am I allowed to ride an E-bike?

All our e-bikes are considered an ‘electrically assisted pedal cycle’ (EAPC) and are permitted on bike paths and roadways. Riders are expected to follow the same laws as cyclists. It is prohibited to take them on unpaved trails or roads.

Is there a weight limit to rent an E-bike?

All our e-bikes are available to be rented. There is a weight limit for the e-bike rental. The weight limit is 260 lbs. 

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellation/Refund Policy For Rented Items:

Cancellations more than 48 hours of start time will be fully refunded. Cancellations less than 48 hours of rental start time will not be refunded.

Rental items may require a Security Deposit for up to the value of the item or items at the time of pick up. This Security Deposit will be used in part or whole to cover any damages to or loss of items rented.
